Managed to knock a few things off the to-do-list this Memorial Day weekend, the biggest item being to paint a tree on one of the nursery walls.

We still have a few more minor things to finish up and one major thing (i.e. having the baby).

With 11 days to go I am still working away in the nursery. Should Oodie Doodie arrive tomorrow it would be no big panic. The floor is installed, the trim is up, the crib is built, the changing table is in place, but there are still a few minor touches that I’d like to get done.
So, while I’d love for Ania to show up tomorrow, one can see that there is still plenty of things to keep me busy, rather than pacing about just waiting for her to show.
And, what are the others doing to prepare for the big day….?

Aaah, sleep. I guess it is best to enjoy it while we still can.
It seems like forever since our last post because I swore that I wouldn’t post anything until I got the baseboard in the room installed.
I always figured that the hardwood floors would be the hardest part of the remodel. While that left me sore, it caused me few reasons to get colorful with my language. I can’t say the same about the baseboards. I said a lot of things to the baseboards and about the baseboards. I called them every name in the book. In particular I yelled out, “Jesus!” a whole bunch. Sure some people may think this to be taking the Lord’s name in vain, but really I was just asking for some assistance. During this whole process I came to realize why Jesus was a carpenter because it takes a miracle worker to so this kind of work and not swear.
Anyways, the baseboards are in and the crib is built and the changing table got lugged up the stairs thanks to our friend Chris. Now, I just have to finish painting the closet door and some shelves. That’s it for the handiwork.

It was getting dark by the time I was done, so hopefully we’ll get some better photos on a sunny day, but by then I expect a lot of the bedding will have been added and the room will look different.
